Fortunately, this beautiful 1969 Mustang convertible carries the black paint superbly, because there’s not a wave nor a ripple anywhere on the bodywork, allowing the glossy black finish to speak for itself.

Super clean Mustang convertible with lots of upgrades. Beautiful restoration in a gorgeous color combination.302/automatic, Shaker hood, spoilers, late model 17-inch Mustang wheels, and much more. Get in and have fun!

There are some who will argue that the 1969 Mustang hits all the right notes when you’re looking for a pony car. The wide grille with the hi-beam headlights mounted inside, the kick-up of the quarter panels, the raked-back windshield—it all adds up to one of the best-looking Mustangs of all. And when it’s dressed in black, few cars look better. Fortunately, this beautiful 1969 Mustang convertible carries the black paint superbly, because there’s not a wave nor a ripple anywhere on the bodywork, allowing the glossy black finish to speak for itself. Gaps are good all around and with a few thoughtful additions like the Boss 302 spoilers and Shaker hood scoop, it takes on an aggressive look that’s easy to appreciate. A few well-chosen shiny bits accentuates the car’s long, low profile and all the brightwork was restored or replaced during the restoration. This ragtop gets everything right.

There are few better combinations than a black car with a red interior, and the handsome bucket seats in this Mustang make it feel far more luxurious than your average pony. Everything you can touch is new, from the seat covers and door panels to the carpets, dash pad, and even the wood-rimmed steering wheel. The dual cockpit design is emphasized in the 1969 Mustangs with two big hoods for driver and passenger, with plenty of warm simulated woodgrain to add an upscale atmosphere. There’s a full array of gauges to monitor the engine, all of which are operational, as well as a clock on the passenger’s side. The original AM/FM stereo radio lives in the center stack, right below the switch for the power convertible top. Matching red rubber Mustang-logo floor mats protect the carpets and even the seat belts have been re-webbed—nice! The black convertible top features Ford’s unique folding glass rear window and stows under a matching red vinyl boot for a clean look. There’s also a good-sized trunk that makes the Mustang a great car for fun weekend getaways.

For power, this Mustang uses a reliable and potent F-code 302 cubic inch V8, AKA the 5.0. Wonderfully torquey, it makes this convertible a lot of fun to drive yet asks for very little in return—just gas and an oil change now and then. It’s fully rebuilt to stock specs and is nicely detailed with Ford Blue engine enamel, Ford Motorsport valve covers, and that big Shaker hood scoop on top. Other nice details include a correct yellow-top coil, reproduction hoses and correct clamps, a FoMoCo distributor cap and wires, and an Autolite battery topper. Power steering and power front disc brakes make it easy to handle and the C4 3-speed automatic transmission shifts crisply and serves up quick downshifts when you prod the pedal a bit. With 3.00 gears out back, it’s a fantastic cruiser that’s comfortable almost anywhere and ride quality is quite good for a pony car. It appears that the floors have been replaced, so rust is a total non-issue in this car, and the critical areas in the rockers and torque boxes are completely solid. New shocks and a modest dual exhaust system make it easy to live with in the real world and it rides quite well on those 17-inch wheels from a late-model Mustang, which carry 235/50/17 Firestone performance radials.

Documentation includes a Deluxe Marti Report.

Beautifully finished and a lot of fun to drive, this Mustang reminds us why Ford’s pony car has been America’s favorite for more than 50 years. It looks awesome, it’s fun to drive, and when you’re in a Mustang, everyone is your friend. Call today!
