Thanks to a very high quality restoration a few years ago, the bodywork is laser-straight with excellent panel gaps that are at least as good as the were managing at Morris Garage in the 1950s.

Exceptional professional restoration. Original colors, rebuilt engine, highly detailed engine and undercarriage. Full weather equipment, chrome wire wheels, newer whitewall tires. Just gorgeous—we challenge you to find a better one!

The MGA was MG’s first all-new car since before the war and they delivered a contemporary, capable sports car that remained entirely affordable. The crisp design eliminated fenders and running boards and worked with an all-new chassis to make the MGA one of the most entertaining cars you could buy at an price. And all that remains true today, because this beautiful Oxford White roadster is as beautiful as it is fun to drive. Thanks to a very high quality restoration a few years ago, the bodywork is laser-straight with excellent panel gaps that are at least as good as the were managing at Morris Garage in the 1950s. Excellent chrome and stainless trim shows that a good pile of cash was invested in the brightwork and the lenses are beautifully preserved. We’ve never seen a nicer one.

The red leather interior is a wonderful contrast to the bright white bodywork, perfect for the MG’s sporting demeanor. The old MG’s wooden instrument panel is long gone, replaced by a color-matched dashboard full of beautiful Jaeger and Smiths gauges, all of which are functional except the fuel gauge. The rest of the controls are still kind of haphazardly arranged, but you won’t mind once you grab the big banjo-style steering wheel and run the 4-speed through the gears. There’s a surprising among of room once you’re behind the wheel and the driving position is comfortable for longer drives. Correct MG-logo floor mats protect the fitted carpets and there’s a handy armrest between the seats. Overhead, there’s a neatly fitted black vinyl top along with side curtains that stow in a neat pouch behind the seats. There’s also (finally) a good-sized trunk that’s as beautifully finished as the rest of the car and includes a full-sized spare.

The engine is a slightly revised version of the TF’s 1489 cc inline-4, which in the MGA was rated at 72 horsepower. Rebuilt (with receipts) a few years ago, it has very few miles on it and was exceptionally well detailed when it was reinstalled. There’s traditional MG Maroon paint on the engine itself, brightly finished SU carburetors, and correct details like hose clamps and fasteners make it show-ready. There’s also a newly re-cored radiator, rebuilt generator, and wonderful items like the copper pipe feeding the firewall-mounted heater. It starts easily, idles nicely, and has that great baritone sound that is a big part of why these cars are so entertaining to drive. It definitely has a big dog bark! The chassis is as well-detailed as the engine bay, although the car was unfortunately too narrow to fit on our lift so no chassis photos are available. However, there is no evidence of rot or panel replacement and both the transmission and rear end were serviced and re-sealed when the car was refinished, so it’s not even much of a leaker. Steering is light and the manual drum brakes are effective given the car’s curb weight and performance, and those sparkling wire wheels carry flashy 5.60-15 US Royal wide whitewall tires.

We admire this car every time we walk past. Few MGAs have been restored to this level simply because the economics just didn’t make sense—it cost several times the asking price to make it this beautiful. That also means it represents a good value if you seek high quality in your collector cars. Already a multiple show winner, this MGA is easy to love and a joy to drive. Call today!
