Built as a high-tech alternative to the Morgan and a bespoke competitor for the Slingshot, the Vanderhall Venice takes everything awesome about motorcycles and makes it far more user-friendly. It uses a familiar and reliable 1.4 liter DOHC turbocharged engine and 6-speed automatic transmission from General Motors and wraps it in dramatic sheetmetal that’s a high-tech take on the 3-wheeler norm. Finished in high-gloss black with charcoal gray accents, it looks like nothing else you’ve ever seen. Fuselage styling looks as if it came from a jet aircraft and there are numerous little details that make the Vanderhall special. Check out the LED headlights hidden behind the grille, the side exhaust with a retro heat shield, and the custom luggage rack out back, integral with the roll hoops. It’s clear the guys at Vanderhall were at the top of their game when they put the design to paper. It is, of course, in fantastic condition with just under 5500 miles from new and obviously vehicles like this don’t see any rain or other inclement weather—it’s pretty much as-new throughout.

The interior features twin black leather bucket seats, which are heated for those cooler night drives. The cockpit continues the hand-built high-tech theme with beautiful aircraft-inspired gauges and toggle switches, carbon fiber accents, and that gorgeous wood-rimmed steering wheel. Thanks to clever packaging, there’s a lot more space in the cockpit than in other 3-wheeled vehicles and you’ll find all the creature comforts, including cruise control, a powerful stereo system, and even safety features such as traction control and ABS brakes. The optional sequential shifter is a big, beefy chrome lever to your left and it’s easy to get accustomed to running the transmission through the gears manually to extract maximum performance. You’ll also note there’s lots of insulation to keep things comfortable on warm days and the windscreen does an excellent job of controlling wind in the cockpit. From behind the wheel, it feels remarkably civilized and easy to manage—you’ll never know there’s only one wheel out back.

Power comes from a 1.4 liter DOHC turbocharged inline-4 sourced from General Motors. That means OEM reliability, easy service, and excellent road manners. Twist the key and it fires easily, idles properly, and makes a nice, gruff 4-cylinder bark from the twin side pipes. It’s never loud our obnoxious, but it definitely feels sporting. Vanderhall claims their front-wheel-drive platform delivers superior stability and we can’t argue against it—this thing is a blast in corners. And with only 1500 pounds to haul around, performance is explosive. Vanderhall disguises the engine with their own emblems and a custom air intake unit, but the rest can be serviced at any GM dealership with off-the-shelf parts. The 6-speed transmission has an automatic mode for cruising and a manual mode for fun, and it pulls down incredible fuel economy—something worth considering in today’s environment. The suspension uses race car style bell cranks and coil-overs with upper and lower A-arms to make a remarkably agile package and the steering is razor sharp. Giant disc brakes ensure reliable stopping even during aggressive drives, and it sits on custom 18-inch aluminum wheels with 225/40/18 front and 285/30/18 rear performance radials.

The more you look, the more amazing details you’ll find packed into this Vanderhall Venice. From the beautifully machined suspension parts to the toggle switches on the dash, it feels like it should cost far more than it does and delivers the kind of performance that usually requires a six-figure buy-in. Still in pretty much as-new condition, you can buy today and start having fun without the wait and with a fairly significant discount. Call today!
