With so few miles, it’s beautifully preserved and has obviously never had to fight its way through winter weather despite a lifetime in the Midwest.

35,000 original miles. Two owners. Great color combination with desirable embroidered cloth interior. Professionally maintained and in excellent condition throughout. Recently serviced with new tires. Attractive Bronco ready to have fun in the dirt.

The Bronco was all-new for 1987, incorporating Ford’s latest aerodynamic look from the F150 and fuel injection across the board. The Bronco was still instantly recognizable but the smoother contours were just right for the ‘80s. Outdoor outfitter Eddie Bauer was tapped to adorn the top-of-the-line Bronco, adding some credibility in the rough yet flavored with a little luxury. Dressed in beautiful Blue and Tan livery, this 1987 Bronco has the right Eddie Bauer look that defined a whole generation of Ford SUVs. With so few miles, it’s beautifully preserved and has obviously never had to fight its way through winter weather despite a lifetime in the Midwest. The paint is entirely original with no touch-ups or resprays, which will tell you just how nice this truck really is—it shines up like its three years old, not thirty five. All the heavy-duty truck styling cues were still there, including a bold chrome grille, big mirrors, and a rear-mounted spare tire with matching vinyl cover. And like the Broncos before it, the entire rear section of the roof is removable for open-air motoring if you’re so inclined. The trim is in excellent shape and the entire truck fits together with surprising quality—Fords were pretty good in the late ‘80s.

The tan interior is where the Eddie Bauer editions stood apart. Handsome cloth buckets wear embroidered seat backs to lend a sense of the outdoors without diluting the top-of-the-line luxury. Some faux burled walnut on the dashboard helps warm things up a bit and there are drop-down armrests for both driver and passenger. Gauges cover all the critical functions and they all work properly—in fact, everything works including the A/C and the original AM/FM/cassette stereo. Power windows and locks were standard on the Eddie Bauer version, as was a power rear window. And unlike its ancestors, this one activates 4-wheel-drive with just a touch of a button the dash, which was a real innovation in the ‘80s. No more getting out to lock the hubs. Rear seat space is impressive and if you’ve got lots of cargo to haul, the Bronco’s got you covered with a fold-down rear seat and fully carpeted rear area big enough to handle almost anything.

This Bronco is powered by Ford’s legendary 5.0 liter V8, which was rated at 188 horsepower and 270 pounds of torque in truck applications. It’s 100% stock and unmodified, although more power is just a phone call away if you want to go in that direction. Thanks to Ford’s awesome EEC-IV engine management system, it starts instantly, idles easily, and pulls the big SUV around without ever seeming to work very hard. The engine bay is extremely clean and well maintained and remains entirely stock save for R134a refrigerant in the A/C system. It’s backed by Ford’s reliable AOD 4-speed automatic transmission driving a 2-speed transfer case and both axles with 3.55 gears inside. As a result, it’s a comfortable highway driver that still crawls through the dirt with ease. The underside shows no evidence of use in inclement weather or salt, and it has been recently oiled so it should stay clean for the foreseeable future no matter what you do. There’s also a newer exhaust system with a nice 5.0 burble, skid plates for off-roading, and a fresh set of 235/75/15 BFGoodrich All-Terrain radials on the factory wheels.

Documentation is extensive and includes the original window sticker, manuals, and purchase documents. We also have a Deluxe Marti Report, brochures, maintenance receipts over the past several years, and other details from the truck’s history.

You may have noticed that these Broncos are gaining value by leaps and bounds, and this is one of the best we’ve seen. Great colors, lots of options, low mileage, and a clean history mean this is the one to own, regardless of whether you’re a show car guy or a dirt crawler. Either way, the Bronco is ready to enjoy.
