Beautiful to look at and just as wonderful to drive, this is the car that delivers on every level.

326 HO engine, 700R4 4-speed automatic, restored interior, upgraded stereo, PS, PB, stunning Sport Red paint. Highly detailed inside and out, incredibly clean, fully sorted. One of the very finest cars we’ve ever featured.

If you’ve been waiting for the finest Firebird we’ve ever seen, this is it. There’s a HUGE amount of money invested here, far more than the asking price, and the result is one of the prettiest, most beautifully finished, and best-driving F-bodies we’ve ever experienced. The color is called Sport Red and it’s from a late-model color palette, but it sure looks right on the vintage Pontiac. Underneath there’s laser-straight sheetmetal that changes nothing from the original look, just cleans it up and makes it look better than the factory ever could. There’s clearly a ton of time and effort involved, from blocking to a final color sand and buff, it just sparkles—just look at the crease running down the sides of the bodywork! You’ll note they skipped the usual spoilers and scoops, letting the clean Firebird shape speak for itself, and the only notable addition is a hood-mounted tachometer, which is always a favorite with Pontiac fans. All the chrome and stainless was restored as well, with fresh emblems that look crisp and bright, and new lenses wherever needed. Spend some time on the photos because this car is every bit as nice in person as it appears in pictures.

The interior doesn’t break any new ground but it’s all about execution. Everything is new, of course, but it’s also beautifully assembled and nicely detailed. Reproduction seat covers replicate the factory look, and the carpets, headliner, and door panels are also new. A woodgrained wheel warms up the all-black interior and you’ll note that all the brightwork has been polished or replaced so it looks crisply rendered. Factory gauges are joined by a trio of auxiliary gauges under the center stack, which also houses a digital AM/FM radio. There are new threshold plates, crystal clear gauge lenses, and even the seat belts offer fresh webbing. The trunk is finished correctly, including a plait mat, jack assembly, and space-saver spare with an NOS inflator can.

The engine isn’t some over-blown crate motor, but rather a fully rebuilt 326 HO V8—just what was there when it was new. There’s a mild cam inside, but it doesn’t get rowdy and offers a smooth idle and great street manners. Hit the key and it fires up easily. A few dress-up parts help make the engine bay look its best, and thanks to an Edelbrock carb and aluminum intake manifold, tuning is easy. Power steering and power disc brakes are included, and as you’d expect, just about everything under the hood is brand new or rebuilt. A giant radiator keeps things cool and long-tube headers help build torque. For easy cruising, there’s a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, which feeds the original 10-bolt rear end with what feel like 3.73 gears inside. Note the beautifully preserved floors, the rebuilt front and rear suspensions with KYB Gas-A-Just shocks, and a snarling Flowmaster exhaust system that terminates in traditional Pontiac tips. A new gas tank hangs out back and it sits on 14-inch Rally II wheels with staggered 235/60/14 front and 245/60/14 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials.

Documentation includes an album of restoration photos.

If you’re shopping price, well, maybe this isn’t your car. But if quality matters (and there’s a lot more money in this car than in the asking price) then it deserves a closer look. It’s also the rare car that will withstand the scrutiny, because someone was sweating the details when it went together. Beautiful to look at and just as wonderful to drive, this is the car that delivers on every level. Call today!
