In fact, a Corvette is often the safest used car you can buy simply because they’re owned by responsible people who drive them gently, and this one is no exception.
Clean C6 Corvette convertible. 46,325 miles. 6.0-liter LS2 V8 with automatic transmission. Great color combination with a few cosmetic upgrades, including wheels and C7 headlights. A lot of performance for not a lot of cash!
The C6 Corvette was an evolution of the ground-breaking C5, and when you start with something great, the results are always impressive. The C6 refined the C5 in tangible ways, and by adding more power, it got a lot faster. The chiseled look was less rounded that its predecessor, but it’s still instantly recognizable as a Corvette. Arctic White is always a classic Corvette color, and the monochromatic look works rather well, giving it an aggressive disposition that looks polished. Finish quality on the C6 was quite good and this car’s 20-year-old paint shines up beautifully and there are excellent gaps all around, all evidence of an easy life. In fact, a Corvette is often the safest used car you can buy simply because they’re owned by responsible people who drive them gently, and this one is no exception. There’s no evidence it has ever been raced or abused and the cosmetic upgrades like the C7 LED headlights, smoked side marker lights, and red powdercoated brake calipers only add to the car’s appeal.
Black leather buckets look awesome and are just as supportive and comfortable as they look. There are some minor signs of use, mostly on the driver’s out seat bolster, but nothing significant and it’s more evidence of this car’s easy life. Everything else inside the car remains in excellent condition and everything works, from the ice cold A/C to the powerful Kenwood entertainment system with touchscreen. This car is also equipped with useful options like heated seats (perfect for cool fall cruises with the top down), heads-up display, and the usual stuff like power windows, locks, seats, and mirrors. Carbon fiber on the center console adds a sporting touch and we still love the way the gauges spring to life when you hit the ignition. Overhead there’s a black canvas power convertible top that raises and lowers itself in seconds, stowing under a hard tonneau for a sleek look. There’s also a big, useful trunk that makes the Corvette ideal for weekend getaways for two.
Power comes from the legendary 6.0-liter LS2 V8, which made a nice-round 400 horsepower and matching 400 lb-ft. of torque. Those are significant improvements over the C5’s numbers, and as a result the C6 is shockingly fast. This one is completely stock, which is how you want to buy your second-hand Corvette. No goofy modifications, no questionable workmanship, just an OEM build to ensure reliability and easy service in the future. And did I mention it’s shockingly powerful as-is? The engine bay is super clean, suggesting someone cared about keeping it tidy, and when paired with the quick-witted 4-speed automatic transmission, this is a Corvette whose performance is available to almost anyone. Of course, power steering and massively powerful 4-wheel disc brakes are part of the package, as is GM’s extremely good StabiliTrack electronic stability control, so go ahead and have fun because there’s a considerable safety net there to keep things in check. The undercarriage is super clean and it has obviously never seen winter weather. The aluminum subframes are in excellent shape, the floors are unmarked, and even many of the factory decals and markings are still visible. The stainless exhaust has a fantastic performance sound that’s distinctive to the LS series of engines, yet it quiets down at cruise so it's easy to cover hundreds of miles without feeling exhausted. Nice! Wheels are one inch bigger in both diameter and width compared to the C5 and carry staggered 245/40/18 front and 85/35/19 rear performance radials.
Extras include a full set of factory owner’s booklets.
This C6 Corvette represents perhaps the perfect intersection of massive performance and insane affordability. It also includes handsome good looks and plenty of comfort, so nobody will complain about the ride. If you’ve been looking for an affordable Corvette with no stories, this is an excellent choice.
