It was stripped to a bare shell and rebuilt from there using all-new parts and every piece of Nova SS trim was sourced to give it a 100% correct look.

Very high quality Nova SS tribute built from a 1972 Pontiac Ventura. Strong-running 350 cubic inch V8, automatic. Everything is new, extensively documented, great color combination. Forget what the VIN says, this is an incredible Nova!

Yes, that’s right, this is a 1972 Pontiac Ventura, so don’t send us the E-mails telling us we’ve made a mistake. The guys at Mickey C’s Speed Shop wanted the very best Nova SS they could find, and that meant finding a high-quality donor car. Well, they found a spotless 1972 Pontiac Ventura and embarked on the build of this “VeNova” tribute, which matches a Nova SS in every way but by the numbers. It was stripped to a bare shell and rebuilt from there using all-new parts and every piece of Nova SS trim was sourced to give it a 100% correct look. The sheetmetal is laser-straight and beautifully finished in Cortez Silver, a traditional Chevy performance look. They added the right SS stripes, which are painted on, not decals, and it’s all buried under the clear for a seamless look and feel. Proper Nova SS badges and emblems were installed as needed, and a new black vinyl top was installed just to dress it up a bit. To anyone looking from the outside and not decoding the VIN, this is a 1972 Chevy Nova—well, except for that custom “VeNova” emblem on the trunk, but that’ll be the start of a conversation that you’ll enjoy.

The interior has a mild resto-mod vibe thanks to a pair of custom low-back buckets that are a lot more comfortable and supportive than the original chairs. There’s also a fabricated center console with auxiliary gauges, cup holders, and power outlets for your phone and GPS. The dash is stock, with the original gauges framed by a trick billet wheel wrapped in leather and perched on a tilt steering column. The original radio has ben replaced by a digital AM/FM unit that works a lot better and things like the carpets, door panels, and headliner are all new. The back seat is stock and in practically unused condition and there are just enough wood accents to warm up the interior a bit. You’ll note that there are correct Nova SS badges here, too, so the illusion is complete, and the Nova remains one of the most entertaining cars to drive thanks to its great power-to-weight ratio. This car earns its SS badges the right way. There’s also a massive trunk with a new mat and correct spatter-finish paint underneath.

Power comes from a 350 cubic inch V8 that was the only choice in the 1972 Nova. But since this one is a tribute, they could color outside the lines a little bit and add the power that GM couldn’t in 1972. It features a big Holley 4-barrel carburetor on an aluminum intake, a giant aluminum radiator with electric fans, and the serpentine accessory drive system from a late-model GM piece. Beautiful ceramic-coated long-tube headers feed a custom stainless dual exhaust system with X-pipe and a transverse muffler, which gives this Nova a pretty wicked soundtrack. A rugged TH400 3-speed automatic transmission will stand up to anything the small block can dish out and the 10-bolt rear end is fortified with a custom aluminum cover and 3.55 gears inside. The front suspension includes Hotchkiss tubular A-arms and lowering springs for a perfect stance, and power front disc brakes provide reliable stopping power. You can see how clean the floors are, and they’ve added a set of subframe connectors to reinforce the tub—a difference you can actually feel. There’s even a brand new gas tank hanging out back. Like I said, virtually everything on this car is fresh. 17-inch Torque Thrust style wheels carry staggered 225/50/17 front and 255/45/17 rear performance radials.

Documentation is EXTENSIVE, with four thick binders full of receipts, photos, manuals, and much more, detailing every aspect of the build.

So don’t get bogged down on what it was, focus on what it is today: the nicest Nova SS we’ve ever featured. Without running the VIN, nobody will know the difference and the driving experience is outstanding. A very expensive build with the best of everything, turn-key and ready to enjoy today. Call now!
