The build cost on this stunning 1930 Ford was a six-figure bill, but it’s done exactly the way most guys do it: Chevy V8 power, a custom chassis with coil-overs, and a comfortable interior ready to cruise.

Pro-built all-steel rod. Brookville body and chassis. Fuel injected Chevrolet small block V8 with 4-speed automatic transmission. 4-wheel disc brakes, independent front suspension. Stunning interior. A high-end build priced at half the cost of duplication.

It is always our advice to buy someone else’s finished project and then tweak it to taste, and that is especially true with street rods. The build cost on this stunning 1930 Ford was a six-figure bill, but it’s done exactly the way most guys do it: Chevy V8 power, a custom chassis with coil-overs, and a comfortable interior ready to cruise. With just over 400 test-and-tune miles on the clock, this proven show-winner represents a whole lot of car for the money. They started with a steel Brookville body, which is arguably better than Henry’s stuff, and used only the best components to finish it out. Obviously, starting with all-new steel means laser-straight bodywork and zero issues under the skin, which is always reassuring. The grille up front says 1932 Ford, but the rest is true to the 1930 Ford roadster on which it is based, including the handsome belt moldings and ideal proportions that have made it a favorite for decades. The sizzling yellow paint is exactly right—not too light and not pastel—and really makes this roadster stand out in a crowd. LED lighting is a high-tech addition that works rather well, and dig the exhaust peeking out from under that custom roll pan in back. Very cool!

The beautifully crafted interior is based around a custom bench seat with bucket-style backrests that are individually adjustable to make this roadster a lot more comfortable than its ancestors. There’s a bit more room inside, so even tall drivers can get comfortable, and with a tilt steering column, the fit can be custom-tailored. Neatly tailored carpets feature matching binding to tie it all together and there’s a cool consolette around the shifter to match. Gauges are by Classic Instruments with big, easy-to-read dials that cover all the engine’s vitals. There’s also a hidden stereo system, although I’d argue that if you’re worried about the radio, you’re not doing it right. Lap belts were added for safety, and there’s extensive sound-deadening throughout to make it comfortable on warm days. Everything is thoughtfully finished to make this car comfortable and easy to live with, including a storage pouch behind the front seat. There’s even a good-sized trunk that has been upholstered to match and includes trick LED lighting, a nice touch!

The engine is a 355 cubic inch Chevy V8, which slots in to the Ford’s engine bay without issues. On top there’s a Holley multi-point EFI system that makes this potent small block extremely user friendly. No choke, no pumping the throttle to get it to start, just turn the key and go! It also looks cool sitting on top of the engine like that, along with a lot of polished and chrome dress-up. Aluminum cylinder heads help build power and, of course, the ignition is electronic. There’s a big radiator up front, and the custom stainless hoses add to the well-dressed look. It’s backed by a 4-speed automatic transmission whose overdrive gear makes this a fantastic highway flier, and there are 3.73 gears in the Ford 9-inch rear end. Using ’32 frame rails gets you that neat little relief just below the cowl, and the suspension consists of A-arms up front and a 4-link out back, all with fully adjustable Viking Performance coil-over shocks to hold it up. There’s a power-assisted disc brake at each corner and rack-and-pinion steering is effortless, even at low speeds. The all-stainless exhaust system has been polished to look fantastic underneath, and it does sound awesome without being annoying. Staggered American Racing wheels are the right choice and carry 205/45/17 front and 85/40/17 rear Continental radials.

This car also includes a lot of extras like a car cover, clip-on windshield wiper (just in case!), build receipts and photos, manuals, and some spare parts.

This is another car that could not be duplicated for the asking price, even if you got the body and frame for free. It’s fully sorted, a blast to drive, and ready to enjoy right away without the years of waiting that goes into a build. If you’ve always wanted a bare-knuckle roadster that brings all the modern upgrades, this is a fantastic choice. Call today!
