It was a rotisserie restoration of a California car, so it’s super clean and solid throughout.

High-quality restoration with some modifications. Strong-running 351 Windsor V8, 4-wheel disc brakes, lowered suspension, 17-inch Magnum 500 wheels, and more. Runs and drives great, beautiful condition throughout. A very cool Mustang ready to cruise!

If you’re a “by the numbers” kind of guy, well, sorry, this 1969 Ford Mustang convertible isn’t for you. But if you’re looking for a very cool Mustang to cruise in this summer, this high-quality ragtop might just fit the bill. It was a rotisserie restoration of a California car, so it’s super clean and solid throughout. They obviously invested a ton of time in paint and bodywork, because the sheetmetal is laser-straight, the body gaps are even, and the doors close with the most solid sound we’ve ever heard on an early Mustang convertible. That long crease that runs from the headlights to the rear quarter panels lines up right, which is tough to do, and the bright red paint just glows. The surface is about a mile deep and reflections are crisp, so you know they took their time with the color sanding and buffing. Most of the chrome an stainless trim is new and fits well, and we like that they didn’t take any liberties with the look—no spoilers or stripes or scoops. Instead, it’s just a clean, straight Mustang from one of the most attractive years of production. This is one of the nicest we’ve seen.

The interior is equally well done, and again, a color change from blue to black works well with the bright red paint job. The color change also means that everything inside the car is brand new, including seat covers, door panels, carpets, and more. The factory steering wheel is in excellent condition with no cracks, and the original gauges are all operational. There’s also an aftermarket tach tucked down low where it doesn’t attract a lot of attention. A digital AM/FM/cassette radio replaces the original AM unit, and there are Mustang-logo floor mats protecting those new carpets. It’s in excellent condition throughout. Overhead, there’s a new black convertible top and even though it’s manual, it’s easy to pull it up and down—my wife can do it, so can you! New weather seals help it close up reasonably well, and there’s a fresh trunk mat in back, giving the trunk a fully finished look.

The VIN says this car was originally powered by a 302, but in its place today is a muscular 351 Windsor V8, which slots in there neatly because it was also on the options sheet. The extra 49 cubic inches adds noticeable grunt, and this torquey 351 is augmented with an upgraded cam, MSD ignition, and an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and manifold combination. It starts easily, idles nicely, and makes awesome sounds thanks to a fresh dual exhaust system with Flowmaster-style mufflers. Power steering makes it easy to handle and the brakes have been upgraded to 4-wheel power-assisted discs. The lowered suspension gives it a wicked stance, yet it still rides nicely, which is no easy feat. And thanks to a lifetime in California, the floors are super clean, the torque boxes are solid, and there are no rust issues anywhere on the car. Everything underneath is now protected with a layer of undercoating that seals it up without hiding anything. The 9-inch rear end has what we believe are 3.00 gears, so it’s a relaxed cruiser and a fresh gas tank hangs out back. The suspension and brakes have been rebuilt, the lines and hoses are new, and, well, there’s not much on this car that hasn’t been touched. Those 17-inch Magnum 500 replicas are exactly the right look and carry big 245/45/17 Goodyear radials all around.

Documentation includes the original owner’s manual and a Marti Report.

Someone spent a huge amount of money on this Mustang and it shows. Beautifully finished, cleverly upgraded, and just a ton of fun to drive, it’s the Mustang you’ve been looking for. We wish all old cars were as good as this one, which is only a turn of the key away from having fun. If that sounds like your idea of a good time, give us a call today!
