This gorgeous 1966 Lincoln Continental coupe has been recently and comprehensively freshened, including a bare-metal repaint in its original black (is there any other color for these cars?).

Recently refurbished. Fresh bare-metal repaint, new top, freshened interior, and much more. Engine top end rebuilt, new suspension components and brakes. Runs and drives extremely well. A beautiful and unusual Continental coupe.

The Continental coupes seem to live in the shadow of their 4-door counterparts, which is odd--the rest of the market prizes coupes above sedans in almost every case. Of course, the “suicide door” Lincolns are a special case, but that doesn’t mean that the coupe isn’t an awesome car. The same handsome look, the same effortless power, and the same luxurious interior, all with two fewer doors and a sleeker roofline. What’s not to love? This gorgeous 1966 Lincoln Continental coupe has been recently and comprehensively freshened, including a bare-metal repaint in its original black (is there any other color for these cars?). The result is a laser-straight body and deep, glossy paint that shows crystal-clear reflections. That was neither cheap nor easy. We have restoration photos showing that this was a clean, solid car before the work started with only two areas needing minor patching--a small section on the trunk lid and one area behind the left front wheel arch. Once it was finished, it was wet sanded, buffed, and then all the restored chrome and stainless trim was reinstalled. It looks like jewelry on the glossy black paint. Finally, a new correct long-grain vinyl top was installed to give it the right ‘60s look and that hint of luxury that makes these cars so special.

The beautiful cloth and leather interior shows extremely well for being mostly original. The brocade fabric on the seats is just too cool, giving it the perfect ‘60s cool attitude while being just a little funky. The carpets are new and the appliques on the dash were replaced with carbon-fiber for a bit of a high-tech look that somehow works extremely well in the Continental. All the power window motors have been serviced or replaced, so the windows zip up and down easily, and the lighting is by LEDs making it look crisp and modern at night. The back seat is spacious and in excellent condition, and it includes its own fold-down armrest for real-sized adults to ride in comfort. There’s also a massive trunk that has correct carpets and a full-sized spare up on its own shelf.

The 462 cubic inch V8 was Lincoln’s largest-ever powerplant, and makes the big coupe feel effortless out on the road. In 2025, it was treated to a full top-end rebuild, including a valve job, new timing chain, new cam and lifters, milled heads, new exhaust manifolds, and a rebuilt carburetor. Up front there’s a fresh aluminum radiator with integral automatic transmission cooler, and the belts and hoses are new. The A/C compressor and expansion valve were also replaced, although the A/C is sadly not operational today. It’s topped by a set of original valve covers with custom decals to give it a look to match the carbon-fiber inserts in the interior. It starts easily, runs superbly, and pulls the big coupe around with the kind of authority you’d expect from Lincoln’s flagship. The C6 3-speed automatic is durable and seamless in operation, and feeds a set of 2.80 gears out back, making this a superb highway flyer that just eats up pavement with ease. Underneath you’ll also find new bushings in the suspension, fresh shocks at all four corners, a re-sealed gas tank with new sending unit, and a mellow-sounding dual exhaust system that’s exactly right for a big luxury car. Structural components are completely solid, including the floors, rockers, and trunk, and it has that incomparable luxury car ride that only American cars seem to offer. Braking is powerful with rebuilt calipers up front, and it sits on 15-inch wheels with hubcaps and 235/75/15 whitewall radials for the perfect ‘60s vibe.

Documentation includes extensive receipts from the restoration work. A second set of 20-inch wheels and tires are also available (please inquire).

Rarely seen and just as impressive as its 4-door siblings, this awesome coupe delivers the big Lincoln experience with a slightly more personal note. The paint and bodywork are spectacular, it drives superbly, and still makes a statement anywhere it goes. If you’ve been looking for a big ‘60s Lincoln that stands out in a crowd, this coupe should get a second look. Call today!
