Delivered new in Utah, it has spent the entirety of its life out west where the roads aren’t covered in salt during the winter months, and as a result the bodywork is quite straight and clean with no signs of trouble underneath.

69,867 original miles. Lifetime western truck. 351 V8, auto, 4x4. Clean paint and bodywork. Beautiful XLT interior loaded with options including cold A/C, cruise control, and more. Nice truck that’s still ready to work or play.

Throughout the ‘80s, the Ford F-Series built its reputation as not only the toughest bunch of trucks you could buy, but also the best-selling vehicles in the country. It was a time when people were adopting trucks as daily transportation rather than just utilitarian tools, which meant the trucks became more civilized as well as more competent. Take a look at this handsome 1990 Ford F250 pickup, which is built to haul almost anything you can fit in the bed. The heavy-duty look is complemented by the two-tone paint, which gives it an upscale look. Delivered new in Utah, it has spent the entirety of its life out west where the roads aren’t covered in salt during the winter months, and as a result the bodywork is quite straight and clean with no signs of trouble underneath. A heavy-duty drop-in bedliner means you don’t have to worry when hauling stuff and the 8-foot bed can carry almost anything. There’s also plenty of chrome thanks to the XLT package, which added the bright grille and stainless side trim, and there’s a big chrome step bumper in back that suits the heavy-duty F250 just fine.

The handsome gray cloth interior is far more comfortable than you’d expect from a heavy-duty pickup truck. The wide cloth bench looks great and it’s obviously been loved as someone expertly replaced the driver’s lower seat cushion with well-matched fabric. Some faux woodgraining warms things up a bit and the large, easy-to-read gauges monitor all the engine’s vitals. The leather wrapped steering wheel is a nice touch, too. Options include cold A/C, cruise control, dual gas tanks, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo system that still sounds decent. The shifter on the floor manages the 4-wheel-drive transfer case and there’s a handy overdrive switch on the dash for hauling trailers. The headliner is in excellent shape and the original carpets are holding up nicely. It’s a comfortable place to be.

The 351 cubic inch V8 is a good choice in the F250. Big enough to do some serious work but not so big that it is excessively thirsty when you’re not doing that work. Bulletproof reliable thanks to Ford’s EEC-IV fuel injection system, it makes great low-end torque and gets the job done. It starts easily, idles nicely, and pulls through the gears with ease. The engine bay is clean and unmodified save for an aftermarket air filter inside the original housing and power steering and power disc brakes are part of the package. The 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive shifts cleanly and works with 4.10 gears to make the truck feel energetic and allow it to tow significant loads. The undercarriage shows some surface scale on the heavy metal parts but nothing critical in the bodywork and the cab corners are clean. The exhaust system has a suitable V8 hum and the 4-wheel-drive system is working properly. Ride quality is pretty good given that this is a ¾-ton pickup and it sits on 16-inch wheels and big 265/75/16 General all-terrain tires.

Documentation includes the original manuals and booklets as well as a Deluxe Marti Report.

Is it a hobby vehicle or a work vehicle? Why not both? These F-Series trucks were handsome, comfortable, and easy to maintain, not to mention sturdy. There’s a lot of nostalgia around them, too, given that almost everyone had one back in the day. Now that it’s 32 years old, this F250 represents a truck that can go to a car show on Sunday and get to work on Monday—that’s a practical way to have fun in this hobby. Call today!
